Northern Archaeology Group

1 min read

A voluntary organisation, whose main interest is the Roman period, though members follow their particular interests. We have members involved in landscape archaeology and excavations. We also hold the extensive Roman collection of artefacts found by our divers on the site of the Roman bridge at Piercebridge.

  1. Im trying to make contact with the group and more particularly with Raymond Selkirk as Im exploring the possibility that the Romans traded up and down the Waveney River between the coast and the Roman settlement at Scole in south Norfolk – which is near where I live. I would like to discuss this with others open to the idea of the importance of Roman riverine trade. Im also interested in the same thing at Brampton, also in Norfolk
