Uttoxeter Archaeology Society

1 min read

The Uttoxeter Archaeological Society (U.A.S.) was formed in September 2002 to explore the Archaeology of Uttoxeter and the surrounding area. This amateur society aims to provide a focus for people interested in the towns’ history and prehistory. The society undertakes a range of activities including a programme of talks, School after school clubs, collection exhibitions, field visits and historical and archaeological research and hands-on archaeology and training.
This Spring the Society will undertake a series of digs and survey work local to Uttoxeter with a pre-historic theme. There will be opportunities to camp over the weekend on location in the Staffordshire hills, although there will be a charge for attendance varying according to status.

  1. Hi my name is Josh, I’m 24, i live in uttoxeter and very interested in history and archaeology. i was just wondering how i would go about getting involved in any activities that occur locally? Are there meetings or possibly just like minded people to talk to? Please email me if there is anything anyone can tell me to enlighten me.
