CECQR carries out research and consultancy in palaeoenvironments, climate change, environmental archaeology, geochronology and dating. It co-ordinates an EU 5th Framework project ‘ACCROTELM’ concerning climate change records across Europe. Techniques include pollen analysis, diatom analysis, luminescence dating, 14C dating preparations, tephrochronology, inter alia. It has had involvement in Palaeolithic archaeological projects: 1. Elveden Palaeolithic project (with British Museum); 2. Boxgrove Project (English Heritage); and 3. Beeches Pit Suffolk. Other projects include: Framlingham Mere; Holocene environmental history of Llangorse Lake. Recent clients: Environment Agency, Northern Archaeological Associates; Clwyd-Powys Archaeological Trust.
