Research Body First Light: Urswick Origins Discovery Programme March 1, 2000 1 min read In 2002 a major early Christian monastic site was identified at Great Urswick, Cumbria. In 2003 evidence for the Roman origins of this site was located. A small amount of excavation work will take place in 2006.
